Director Vetrimaaran and actor Dhanush have been known by movie buffs as a reliable combo who have delivered superhit movies with critically acclaimed content as well, and had last given the superhit movie Asuran in 2019.

The combo which was established with hits like Polladhavan and Aadukalam later joined hands in Vada Chennai which was announced as a trilogy and the first part released in 2018 had an open ending as well. Now, Vetrimaaran has opened up on the sequel to Vada Chennai.

In a recent interview, Vetrimaaran has said that he wants to make Vada Chennai 2 definitely but now has plans to direct it as a web series. While the director didn't confirm on when he'll begin working on Vada Chennai 2, he will be directing a movie with Soori followed by Vaadivaasal with Suriya next.
