Vetrimaaran has been the biggest trending topic on social media since Sunday morning as today happens to be his 47th birthday. The maverick filmmaker was flooded with wishes from celebrities and fans on social media. He is also working on his big day on his upcoming 'Viduthalai' that will release in two parts.
Vetrimaaran has revealed that 'Viduthalai' was started at a budget of rupees four crores starring Soori and Bharathiraja in the lead roles. However the veteran director opted out due to the high physical demands of the character and was replaced by Vijay Sethupathi the busies actor in the country right now. After the change the budget has now shot up ten times to rupees forty crores now and story has also got much bigger.
The celebrated auteur has shared that he is about to shoot a train accident sequence in the coming weeks that alone will cost around rupees eight crores. He praised producer Elred Kumar for spending lavishly and in fact he was the one who insisted on shooting the difficult sequence even though Vetri himself was hesitant.
'Viduthalai' parts one and two have music by Ilayaraja and stars Soori, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Menon, Rajiv Menon and Prakash Raj. The first part is expected to release in early 2023 and the next a few months after that.
