Director Vetrimaaran had last directed Asuran starring Dhanush and Manju Warrier, and after the success of the movie will be directing Soori in a movie which is based on Naa Muthukumar's Pattampoochi virpavan poem, produced by Elred Kumar.

Now here's an update on Vetrimaaran's production house Grassroot film's next venture. Grassroot films which has produced movies like Kodi, Annanukku Jey etc will next present the movie Baaram in association with SP Cinemas which has produced K 13.

Baaram directed by Priya Krishnaswamy won the Best Tamil film National Award 2019, and the movie is based on the practice called Thalaikoothal which is practiced in several villages to kill elderly people. It has been announced that Baaram releases on February 21.
