Veteran singer KBK Mohan Raju passes away

KBK Mohan Raju, an excellent playback singer who was also a television and radio artist of repute, has passed away.  

A contemporary of the likes of Ghantasala, SP Balasubramaniam, Ramakrishna, PBS, P Suseela, and Janaki, he rendered super hit songs in such films as 'Poola Rangadu', 'Saakshi', 'Tahsildari Gari Ammayi', and 'Maa Bhoomi'.  He was a sought-after name in late 60's and 70's.  

He worked with eminent music directors like KV Mahadevan, S Rajeswara Rao, Satyam, and Master Venu.  'Evariki Vare Ee Lokam', 'Maru Mallelu Ghuma Ghuma Lade', among others, are some of his super hit numbers.  Quite many of his songs with P Suseela were big hits.  

Besides film songs, he was also reputed for devotional songs.  A recipient of a number of numbers, he performed at many international concerts and cultural events as well.
