Veteran Malayalam actress Kozhikode Sharada passed away following a cardiac arrest on Tuesday. She was 75. Sharada had been getting treated in Kozhikode Medical College Hospital since Monday after she reported difficulty in breathing. On Tuesday morning her health condition deteriorated and suffered cardiac arrest.

Sharada began her acting career with theatre plays. She made her film debut with the 1979 movie Angakkuri. Later, she acted in over 100 movies and several TV serials playing notable roles. She is popular for her roles in movies such as Sallapam, Kannezhuthi Pottum Thottu, Kutty Srank, Kilichundan Mambazham, Nandanam, Yugapurushan, Ennu Ninte Moideen, etc. She was last seen in Sreevalsan J Menon's short film 'Jara'.
