In a heartbreaking piece of news, popular Malayalam veteran actor VP Khalid, of Marimayam TV show fame, passed away on Friday morning. According to reports, the senior actor was found unconscious in the washroom while he was shooting for his upcoming film. He was shooting for a Tovino Thomas starrer untitled film that is currently being shot in Vaikkom. According to reports, the senior actor suffered a cardiac arrest while he was using the washroom. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, the doctor pronounced him dead at arrival.
P Khalid, garnered popularity for his character, Sumesh in the superhit Malayalam sitcom, Marimayam. His humour and love of acting won many hearts. He had started his career as a theatre artist, and later, he had worked in many big projects. 70-year-old Khalid is survived by his three sons, Shaiju Khalid, Jimshi Khalid, who are notable cinematographers and Khalid Rahman, who is a director by profession. As soon as the news hit the headlines, many celebrities and his massive fanbase shared their condolences for the actor and his family.
