Veteran actor Unnikrishnan Namboodiri is a popular face among Kerala and Tamil audiences. On Saturday, the versatile actor turned 98 years old. The veteran actor has no lifestyle related diseases or any other physical problems till date. However, for the past few years, he has been wheelchair-bound due to age-related ailments.
Though Unnikrishnan Namboothiri is a native of Payyanur, he currently stays in Ernakulam with his younger son Adv. PV Kunjikrishnan. It is said that Unnikrishnan had a quiet birthday with his family.
The actor won the hearts of Keralites through the role of a grandfather in ‘Desadanam’ when he was 75. Later, he acted in popular movies like ‘Kalyanaraman’, ‘Rappakal’, ‘Udayon’, etc and gained more popularity. He has shared screen space with several biggies in Tamil as well including Rajinikanth's ‘Chandramukhi’, Kamal Haasan's ‘Pammal K Sambandam’ and Aishwarya Rai-Ajith-Mammootty starrer ‘Kandukondain Kandukondain’.
