Ramarajan is an actor, writer, director and politician who specialised in acting and directing films on village-based subjects. He is also known as Makkal Nayagan in Tamil cinema. This successful actor who was ha a thriving cinema history was away from the films for almost 10 years now.

His film Karagatakaran (1989) was a huge hit. The film ran for 400 days in theatres and made history. Karakatakkaran is one of the biggest hits in Tamil cinema. Ramarajan, later involved in politics and, was elected to the 12th Lok Sabha in 1998 as a candidate of Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam for the Tiruchendur Lok Sabha constituency.

Ramarajan acted in the 2012 film Medhai after the 2001 film Seeri Varum Kalai. Now Ramarajan is all set to make his reentry in the film Samanyan and the first look poster of this movie was shared by Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi recently.

It was officially announced that Saamaniyan will be the 45th film starring Ramarajan. The poster of the film had actor Ramarajan is drinking tea while watching someone. The film also has Radha Ravi and MS Bhaskar.
