Veteran actor and writer Raavi Kondala Rao passes away

Veteran actor Raavi Kondala Rao is no more. Also a writer, he was 88. Associated with a number of well-known Telugu films over the decades, Rao was sought-after for serious roles. He did more than 600 movies after debuting with 'Sobha' in 1958. Born on 11 February 1932 in Srikakulam, he was active in the film industry for almost five decades.

As a literary person, Rao ably edited Vanitha and Jyothi magazines, besides being associated with a number of publications in different capacities. An acquaintance of some of the most creative Telugu film personalities, he famously wrote dialogues for the folk flick 'Bhairava Dweepam'. A story-writer, he collaborated with Bapu for Rajendra Prasad's 'Pelli Pustakam'.

Rao was married to veteran actress Radha Kumari, who died at 70 in the year 2012.

IndiaGlitz condoles the demise of Rao. May his bereaved family have the strength to overcome the grief.
