Vennela 1 1/2
After languishing in the studios for nearly a year, Vennela 1.5 is set to be released on Sep 21. Director Vennela Kishore made a product, which was taken over from Vasu and Varma by another producer, who had some suitable changes made to the script and some portions reshot.
Starring Brahmanandam in a key role, it has Monal Gajjar of Sudigaadu fame as the female lead. It was the first film to be signed by her.
Kishore was so very much inspired by the first half of Vennela that he deemed it fit to draw from its flavour and make a laugh riot. Sunil Kashyap, who gave tuneful music in It's My Love Story, is the music director.
It has to be seen if Chaitanya Krishna and Monal, along with a bevy of comedians, will work wonders at the BO. Releasing as a small film, this might stand chances if it manages to dole out minimum guarantee entertainment, at least for a section of the youth audience.
