Much like Nagarjuna who dons the greasepaint to portray the roles of legendary dovotees like Sri Ramadasu and even God-saints like Shirdi Sai Baba, Victory Venkatesh too wanted to break the monotony by trying the role of the spiritual master, Swami Vivekananda. That is why he is doing a movie based on the life of the 19th century Vedantist.

"A role of spiritual master gives me a break from monotony and it’s high time for me to switch gears," he told a popular English-language daily. The ageing star feel that "the show must go on and we have to take the next step."

In fact, the star has been desiring to do a high-brow role for long. More than a decade ago, he confessed his desire to play a spiritual character and quoted Annamayya.

It is commendable that Venky wants to think out of the box and do something really challenging as well as meaningful. If Vivekananda becomes a commercial hit, it will herald a renewed beginning for Venky who is in his late 40s.
