Ahead of the theatrical release of 'Venky Mama' on December 13, a special presser was today held in Hyderabad and the same was graced by the film's cast and crew.
Speaking on the occasion, producer D Suresh Babu said, "It's a film about relationships. The story was conceived more than two years ago. Bobby developed it into a full-fledged story. We have shot it predominantly in Hyderabad, Rajahmundry, and Kashmir. We shot in Kashmir for 25 days in risky terrain but we never faced any problem. The people of Kashmir are very nice. I want everyone to know that Kashmir is a safe place. Kashmir is one of the prettiest places in the world. It took us a long time to complete the post-production. Prakash Raj garu has done a fantastic job and only he could have pulled it off that remarkably. People say that he doesn't turn up on sets on time. But, while working on 'Venky Mama', he was always punctual. Our distributors have watched the movie and they are extremely happy. With the exception of vulgarity, you will find everything in the movie. This is a proper Telugu genre flick."
Bobby said, "It was Kona Venkat garu's proposal that I do this mama-alludu story with Venkatesh garu and Naga Chaitanya. This film was supposed to happen before 'F2' and 'Majili'. It got delayed, though. Venkatesh garu didn't see Chaitu as his co-star. He saw him as his alludu."
Naga Chaitanya said, "We are happy to have got solo release on December 13. 'Manam' and 'Venky Mama' will always be special to me in my career. I and director Bobby have held elaborate discussions over casting, etc. A lot of improvisations happened. Finally, the best things fell into place. You will see a new Chaitanya in the military dress."
Venkatesh said, "Everybody speaks so well on stage. But I continue to get nervous even after three decades of being an actor. I have always wanted to work with my nephews, Chaitu and Rana. So, 'Venky Mama' is a dream-come-true. Chaitu's performance is outstanding and eclectic. I am really happy for him. My fight masters, music director, cinematographer, and everyone else has done a great job. I thank my brother for delivering the goods. After 'F2', this is going to be quite different for me. It's a wholesome family entertainer with big commercial elements."
