Ace actor Victory Venkatesh has appeared in a social message-giving ad brought out by Teenage Foundation. Coming with an anti-peer pressure theme in the matters of alcoholism, drug addiction, etc. This is what the makers have to share about the story behind bringing the video out:
"This issue ??is very commonly addressed in the West, but in India not much importance is given. This is the? root cause of many problems which teens face, and it all starts off as a ?"?one-time attempt?"? thing, only to ?later ?become a habit very difficult to win over.
Teenage Solution, a Hyderabad-based NGO run by Dr. Lalitha Anand, took this initiative to deal with this subject. She then approached writer-director Jennifer Alphonse to come out with a short video that can visually put the point across to the teenagers in a subtle way.?
Jennifer Alphonsse, who had earlier won 3 Nandi Awards and several International Awards, and who has to her credit a few short films and documentaries, has already had exhibited her works at Cannes ?twice, besides at many other International Film Festivals across the globe. When she started to pen down her thoughts on this issue, Jennifer? felt that “when you are influenced by a third person, they start to control your emotions and you just become a puppet in their hands.” That's when she thought of using a puppet in the video to interpret how we allow others to pull our strings.
The idea was instantly liked by Dr. Lalitha, but to put such a point across to the public and especially the teenagers, it was very important as to who will be the face of the video. That's when they thought of approaching actor Venkatesh, who after listening to the script, accepted to come on board and lend his screen presence for this good cause.?
That's how the video was shot?, and its was released on November 14, the Children's Day. It soon went viral within 48 hrs, clocking up to 1 lac views.
Tolywood star?s? like Rana Daggubati ?also tweeted about the video?."
