The Telugu remake of 'Saala Khadoos' ('Irudhi Suttru' in Tamil) will go to floors from Sept 10. The film is written and directed by Sudha Kongara, the one who directed the original.

To be produced by the makers of the original, the film will be presented by Prasad V Potluri. Except for Venkatesh, most of the cast and crew will be drawn from the original version. Ritika Singh, who played Madhi, will reprise herself. So also Mumtaz Sorcar, Nasser, Radha Ravi, Zakir Hussain, and Kaali Venkat, among others.

Venky has been quoted as saying that it's who he recommended that Ritika Singh reprise herself because she has already rocked it once.

The film will reportedly be shot and done with the next stage in 90 days. Initial reports suggest that the film will hit the screens in January 2017.

Music is by Santosh Narayanan of Kabali fame. Cinematography is by Sivakumar Vijayan. Art direction is by Santhanam.

Venky has not trained himself on any martial technique, but he has put on a bit of weight by following a diet regimen. He will be seen in a bearded look because he is playing a crest-fallen boxing champion who coaches the fiery Ritika and redeems himself in the process.
