'Narappa', starring Venkatesh and directed by Sreekanth Addala, will not be hitting the screens on May 14. On Thursday, the lead actor took to social media to announce its indefinite deferment in the wake of the second wave of the pandemic.
"In lieu of the pandemic, #Narappa will not be releasing on May 14th. A new theatrical date will be announced once we overcome this unprecedented crisis," Venkatesh wrote.
The makers said that the film, which is a remake of 'Asuran' (Tamil), has been made with a lot of dedication and hard work. "We are all going through a turbulent time during this unprecedented global pandemic and hence, keeping in mind the safety and health of our beloved audience, the theatrical release has been postponed," the makers added.
The film also features Priyamani, Karthik Ratnam, Rao Ramesh, Rajeev Kanakala and others. Cinematography is by Syam K Naidu. Action choreography is by Peter Heins.
Venkatesh is also doing 'F3' currently. The film, which is directed by Anil Ravipudi, will release on August 27 (unless postponed).
