Director Venkat Prabhu is presently busy with his maiden production and eighth directorial venture 'Chennai 600028 II Second Innings" the sequel to his debut blockbuster 'Chennai 600028' released in 2007.

In a recent interview VP has opened up about the plot of this film and why it took eleven years gap to start the sequel.

Speaking about the plot of 'Chennai 28 II' the 'Mankatha' director said that it will be the story of what happened in the lives of the characters in eight years after from where 'Chennai 28' ended and what made them reunite again.

Revealing the reason for the long gap between the first part and the sequel, the director said that while making 'Chennai 600028' he had planned it as a trilogy and also named the next two parts as 'Chennai 600028 Second Innings' and 'Chennai 600028 Finals'. But due to circumstances his second film happened to be 'Saroja' and after that he had to concentrate on other films and its lead actors also became busy as solo heroes which forced him to postpone the idea of sequels.

This can be taken as a hint for an upcoming third part film for the highly entertaining 'Chennai 600028'. We hope Venkat Prabhu will pull this off soon,

The sequel stars almost all the actors of the first part that includes Jai. Siva, Vijayalakshmi, Premji, Vijay Vasanth, Aravind Akahs, Nithin Sathya, Sampth Raj, Ilavarasu and many others. The new additions will be Vaibhav, Mahath, Santhana Bharathi, Anjana Keerthi, Maheshwari, Shanthini and producer T. Siva among many others. Yuvan Shankar Raja is taking care of the musical score.

The 'Chennai 28 II' is expected to hit the screens very soon.
