Hon'ble Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu has on Saturday suggested that threatening artists and/or putting a spanner in the wheel of their creative pursuits is bigotry.

"Physical threats and obstruction of filmmakers is unacceptable. Protesters should oppose through lawful means," Naidu has been quoted saying.

"Our country has always practised pluralistic traditions. Narrow and bigoted views have never been allowed to rear their ugly heads in India. While dissent is acceptable, disintegration is not," he further noted.

As is expected of all dignitaries in highest positions, Naidu didn't invoke the name of the film.
