Days after the ban on TikTok, Helo, We Chat and 56 other Chinese apps, the Modi government has supported the rise of a home-grown “super app” for social media activities. Named Elyments, the brand-new app was on Sunday launched by Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu.
Developed by Art Of Living volunteers, the app supports social media content feed, besides making available a chat interface for its users. What is more, there are options to make audio and video calls.
Listed on Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, the app was developed by more than 1000 volunteers of the spiritual organization. Sri Sri Ravishankar dedicated the app to the nation. It’s available in 8 Indian languages.
It’s reported to have had some “teething troubles” concerning logging in, etc.
