Vice-President of India Venkaiah Naidu has contracted Coronavirus. The dignitary is asymptomatic and is currently self-isolating at his official residence in New Delhi.

"The Vice President of India who underwent a routine COVID-19 test today morning has been tested positive. He is however, asymptomatic and in good health. He has been advised home quarantine," the official handle of the VP said Tuesday night.

"His wife Smt. Usha Naidu has been tested negative and is in self-isolation," the handle added.

Several public figures have wished the VP a quick recovery. "I’m sure Hon’ble Vice President will recover at the earliest from Covid - 19 and will come back with the same enthusiasm and passion to serve the Indian people," Minister of State Kishan Reddy wrote.
