Actor Vemal was last seen on screen in the rural movie Kalavani 2 directed by Sarkunam, and the movie which also stars Oviya, Saranya Ponvannan, Ganja Karuppu and Ilavarasu did not fare well at the box office. The actor will be seen next in the movie Sandakkari My Boss.

Sandakkari My Boss is the official Tamil remake of the Malayalam movie My Boss that had Dileep and Mamtha Mohandas starring, and the Tamil version will have Shriya Saran as Vemal's pair and director Madhesh who has directed Madurey, Arasangam and Mohini is directing the movie.

During the recent Kerala floods, a set erected by the team for the movie had got completely washed away and luckily the team had just completed the schedule there and had planned to return only in case of patch work. Vemal and Shriya thus had a lucky escape from floods, revealed director Madhesh in an interview.
