Director Sarkunam's Kalavani 2, the rural entertainer starring Oviya and Vemal in lead roles and produced by Varmans films was supposed to release in May, and recently the film had got into trouble, after a case was filed against the release, by Sri Dhanalakshmi films Kumaran.

The court had stayed the release of the movie, and following this Sarkunam had said that the movie's stay was sought for an issue between Dhanalakshmi films and Vemal during the times of his Mannar Vagaiyara movie, and Kalavani 2 has no connection with the company and that he expects a positive end to the issue.

Today, the case came for hearing, and during this session, the high court has removed the stay on the release of Kalavani 2, and has announced the verdict that Kalavani 2 can be released. This has come as a relief for the makers of Kalavani and the team, and it is expected that the release date might be announced soon.
