Actor Vemal was last seen on screen in the adult comedy Evanuku Engayo Macham Iruku which was a disaster, and is soon expected to have another release with the rural comedy entertainer Kalavani 2 directed by Sarkunam who had earlier directed Kalavani.

Vemal's next movie has been titled as Sandakaari, and this movie directed by R Madhesh will have one of the top heroines of Tamil cinema who has paired with top heroes of Kollywood and Tollywood like Superstar Rajnikanth, Vijay, Vikram, Mahesh Babu etc, Shriya Saran as the female lead.

The actress had not been signing films in Tamil after Simbu starrer Anbanavan Asarathavan Adangathavan and post her marriage has signed this movie.While the details on the director and the complete cast and crew are yet to be known, this movie is said to feature Shriya as Vemal's boss, and the team has completed the first schedule shoot in London. Sura and Maaveeran fame Dev Gill will be seen playing the villain in this movie. The second schedule has been said to be planned in a rural area.
