Vels University Chancellor Ishari K Ganesh presented him with the honorary doctorate in literature, a moment that was truly special for the actor.
The university's official account shared the news, stating, "Thiru. Ram Charan, Indian actor, film producer, and entrepreneur, receiving an honorary Doctor of Literature degree from Vels University at their 14th Annual Convocation." Additionally, the university expressed excitement in welcoming the dynamic star for their convocation and presenting him with the Honoris Causa award.
Ram Charan, known for his simplicity, arrived in Chennai with his wife Upasana and daughter Klinkara. He opted for a casual outfit, wearing a sky-blue shirt paired with black pants and sneakers, along with a black cap and shades. His wife Upasana was also seen, cradling their daughter.
During the press conference, Vice Chancellor K.Ganesh revealed that despite Ram Charan's busy schedule, he decided to personally receive the doctorate after being invited by the university. Ram Charan, addressing the audience, expressed his gratitude in Tamil and thanked the university for honoring him, stating that receiving a doctorate was beyond his belief. He dedicated the honor to his directors, fellow actors, audiences, fans, and everyone who has been part of his journey.
Ram Charan also shared his fondness for Chennai, mentioning that he was born in Vijaya Hospital, Chennai, and did his schooling in Padma Seshadri. He emphasized that Chennai is a land of opportunities and expressed his love for the city, which holds a special place in his heart.
Vice Chancellor Ganesh highlighted that Ram Charan's visit to the Oscars inspired them to honor him with a doctorate. Ram Charan expressed his excitement about collaborating with director Shankar for a political drama titled "Game Changer." When asked about his education, he revealed that he dropped out of Mechanical Engineering to pursue a career in acting.
