Vellore Commissioner nabbed for accepting bribe

Vellore Corporation commissioner T Kumar has been arrested by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) in relation to a bribery case, in which the commissioner had demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 20,000.

The arrest was carried out in Vellore. The Vellore unit of the DVAC has nabbed corrupt officials in the past for similar charges, quite a few of them being high profile officers such as the DSP arrested in December last year and the VAO arrested in April last year.
