Vellaripravinte Changathy

A love story told in three different periods extending to around 40 years. This is the highlight of the new movie 'Vellaripravinte Changathy' featuring Janapriyanayakan Dileep again with director Akku Akbar, after their earlier ventures like 'Mazhthullikilukkam'.

The film is about a `cinema within cinema' that was planned in the year 1965 and was shot in 1970.This film which was titled 'Vellaripravinte Chngathy'   has a love story of Ravi and Surekha as its centre plot. In the era when Madhu and Prem Nazir were ruling the industry, this venture by debutante director Augustine Joseph had new comers Shajahan and Mary Varghese as the lead pair. During the making of the film, the lead pair also falls in love with each other and was a talk in the sets. But with the unexpected demise of the director, the movie never got completed. Shajahan and Mary Varghese waited for the right roles for long, in and around Chennai and gradually disappeared from the field, without getting any good offers.

After forty years from the making, the reels of the film were later recovered at the corner of a film lab. Some new age film buffs that got the prints plans to get the movie into theatres. The movie thus follows the goodness that happens in the life of many as the movie gradually takes off on screens.

`Vellaripravinte Changathy ` is the 20- th film of Dileep and Kavya together as the lead pair. The movie will offer them in three get ups: while Dileep will come up as Ravi and Shajahan of the 70's, Kavya will don the role of Surekha and Mary Varghese.

Some major screens of the movie are shot in Black and white and the movie will offer a satirical view into the film making of the time. The story and scripts by G S Anil is said to offer plenty of humorous scenes while detailing with the inside story of movie production. The entire cast of the film including Indrajith and Manoj K Jayan will have a different dress codes and hairdo of the seventies. Also in the cast are Manian Pillai Raju, Mamukoya, Devan, Anil Murali, Geetha salam, Vijayaraghavan, Ramu, Kollam Thulasi, Venu Machad, Seenath and Archana.

The songs from the film by Mohan Sithara and Vayalar Sharath have already become hits and Akku feels that there is tremendous interest in the minds of the viewers. The cinematography of the movie is by Vipin Mohan and Sameer Haq while Gireesh Menon, Kumar Edappal, Lijo Pauls, Sudevan heads Art, Costume, Editing and Makeup departments of the movie. The post-production work of the movie is currently on and the director is giving final touches to this 'romantic-emotional love story'.
