The current heartthrob of Kollywood, Sivakarthikeyan graced the 100th staging of 'Kasethaan Kadavulada' by veteran Y Gee Mahendra's troupe at the Mylapore Fine Arts Club. The 1972 superhit film of the same name written and directed by Chithralaya Gopu has been adapted to the stage with Mahendra taking on the famous role of the fake godman made immortal by Thengai Srinivasan.
Speaking at the occasion, Sivakarthikeyan lauded the performances of each and every actor of 'Kasethaan Kadavulada' play. He said that he is ashamed to sit in front of those actors who can act in a single take for two and a half hours while film actors like him have the luxury of retakes. He added that there is no creation without inspiration and he has been highly inspired by the humorous performance of the troupe.
It is amazing that at this age when high budgeted movies struggle to pass a week at the theaters, 'Kasethaan Kadavulada' has seen 100 stages in India, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia. Kudos to YGM and his troupe.
