Veeraappu
The grand success of Thalainagaram has helped director Sundar C establish a career option as hero in Kollywood. He is playing the title role in Veeraappu, which is directed by his one-time associate Badri.
A remake of Malayalam hit Spatikam, Veeraappu stars Gopika as the female lead to Sundar C.
Thilakan and Mohanlal enacted the father and son's roles respectively in Spatikam. It was a runaway hit in Malayalam. Veeraappu stars Prakash Raj and Sundar C. The former plays the father of Sundar C in this film.
Sundar C says, "The movie has a griping storyline and I am cast in the role which is very much part of the film".
This movie is woven around the relationship between a father and son. Parents, especially fathers, cherish dreams of their son's career and nourish certain aspirations for their son. But, more often than not, the sons take a different direction altogether. Gopika plays the heroine in the movie which also features Vivek, Santhanam, Sumithra, and Thejashree among others in the supporting cast.
K S Selvaraj is handling the cinematography while music is by D Imman. Screenplay, dialogues and direction is by Badri. Krishnamoorthy Vijayakumar and Sujatha Vijayakumar are the producers of the movie.
Badri says, "The movie has equal prominence to Prakash Raj and Sundar C. Both have contributed well on the screen. It is a story that we come across in every household. With Vivek and Santhanam around, we have tried to render the story in a lighter vein".
