'Veenila Kabadi' Hindi remake 'Badlapur Boys' marks A Muthu's producer debut

A Tamil super hit film ‘Veenila Kabadi’ which was directed by Susindran in 2009 is now being remade in Bollywood. Titled as ‘Badlapur Boys’, renowned B-town editor A Muthu who has edited more than 50 films like ‘Sadak’, ‘Deewana’, ‘Balwan’, ‘Raja Babu’, ‘Judwa’, ‘Ziddi’, ‘Haseena Maan Jayegi’ has taken the remake rights of film ‘Veenila Kabadi’ and turns producer with film ‘Badlapur Boys’. Muthu will be producing the film under the banner of Karm Movies LLP.

Talking about the film the editor-turned-producer stated, "I am very happy with the way the film is shaping up and debut director Sailesh Verma is doing an excellent job, we have completed one song with 15 day shoot in Rajasthan."

The film stars Nishan Nanaiah who was last seen as Peter in film ‘David’ along with Neil Nitin Mukesh and it will be a Bollywood launch film of Saranya Mohan who is a big star down south. "She was also the lead heroin of Film ‘Veenila Kabadi’ so we decided on casting her and launching her in Bollywood, we are leaving no stones un-turned for this project," added A Muthu.

The remake boasts of noted names, including Music Directors Sachin Gupta, Sameer Tandon, Raju Sardar; lyrics are by Sameer Anjan; background Music is by Monty Sharma. Sharat Chandra is the creative producer who was also involved with Shahid-Sonam starrer ‘Mausam’.

‘Badlapur Boys’ deals with a plot of social family romantic drama with sports as a backdrop. Talking about the project, the lead hero Nishan stated that it’s a very simple film and people who have dreams of being successful will surely connect with the subject.
