Veedhi
Usha Kiron Movies doesn't need any new introduction. One of the hoariest film units, it has stayed away from filmmaking for some time ---- its last flick was Anandamanandamaye.
So for it to comeback and make movies again, there has to be a compelling reason.
And director Dorairaj seems to have provided just that.
Veedhi---The Street seems to be a realistic drama with a cutting edge of mystery.
The film is based on social issues, says the director.
Sharvanand, who is increasingly taken note of, plays the hero. Gopika is the heroine. Sharvanand is a thinking actor and is known to take up only challenging and interesting films.
Gopika, the Mallu girl, plays a journalist. The story revolves around four youth and a girl. But this is not a four-is-to-one love story, says Ajay Shanti, who is the story in charge. `It is a drama of the real kind'.
The story takes off from an incident on the street and hence the name, says the director.
The promos of the film are already a rage, and have kindled the interest of the discerning viewers.
The film's music ---- aptly and innovatively released on the streets --- is also very appealing.
Anoop has set the tunes.
The film releases on August 4.
