Is this Ajith's character name in 'Vedhalam' ?

Now that the title of Thala 56 has been confirmed as 'Vedhalam' and from the first look poster unveiled last night it becomes clear that Thala Ajith plays a don kind of role in the film and the title has a connection with this character.
But now sources reveal that Vedhalam is indeed the character name of Ajith in the flash back portions where will he will be appearing in the short hair get up he sports in the poster. It is said that the character with negative shades will be as powerful as 'Vettaiyan' of Chandramukhi and the menacing Robot character of 'Enthiran' both played by Superstar Rajinikanth. Hence the film's director Siva seems to have opted for this character's name as the film's title after deep thought. This is also cited as the reason for delay in announcement of the title.
