Vazhthukal: Tamil flavor

Bhavana was amused. She could not understand what the director says. The experienced actress could not act or react when Seeman said Aarambi. The cameraman was waiting. Then Seeman said Niruthu and came to her to explain what was going on there.

It was an incident that took place in the sets of Vazhthukal. Director Seeman, known for his passion towards Tamil, has decided to have the process of filmmaking without using English for communication. He has gone to the extent of changing the basic terminologies like ready, start camera, action, and cut. He has replaced Tamil words for all these activities. His unit including the cast is getting accustomed to the change.

The movie has Madhavan and Bhavana in the lead roles. There are only a couple of English words in the whole movie (hello good morning!) and that too, only once. This is to despite the fact that the protagonist is a software engineer.

The whole unit is talking unadulterated Tamil in the sets. The influence of Seeman is so powerful that the unit members are talking in pure Tamil even while communicating through phone, even when they are out of the shooting.

The story revolves around the conflict between joint family sentiments and love. The story is poignantly told without restoring to melodrama.

We must appreciate Seeman, a rare person who acts what he talks. His passion towards Tamil and his efforts to spread it are commendable indeed. Vazhthukal Seeman
