Filmmaker Vasanth has been selected as one of the jury members for the Goa Film Festival that kickstarts this December.

Says the director, who made films like ‘Keladi Kanmani’, ‘Aasai’ and the recent ‘Satham Podathey’, “It’s indeed a proud moment for me. It is a great honour to be a member of the jury.”

On the kind of work he is going to do, Vasanth says, “I’m going to select international projects with a script that appeals to the Indian audience.”

Expressing happiness that ‘Satham Podathey’ bagged the Best Story Writer and the Best Editor awards of the Tamil Nadu government, he says, “I am really glad that our work has been appreciated. It was a movie made for a social cause - domestic violence and alcoholism.”

“There are so many youngsters addicted to alcohol. Likewise, there are so many woman who face violence in their homes day in day out. I decided to take the problem to the masses. And I made Satham Podathey,” he says.
