Associate Director and writer Varun Rajendran spoke to media after he reached an out of court settlement with director A.R. Murugadoss over the 'Sarkar' story issue. He stated that since he is a former assistant of director S.A. Chandrasekhar he has absorbed the habit of fighting for his rights and would meet him soon to inform him about his victory. He categorically denied that he sought ban on 'Sarkar' and also is not after money. He said that being acknowledged is the compensation that he is seeking.
Varun Rajendran concluded his statement saying that he is dedicating his 'Sengol' story to Vijay, his family and S.A. Chandrasekhar family to celebrate a 'Sarkar' Diwali. A.R. Murugadoss's letter acknowledging Varun Rajendran for conceiving the similar story idea many years back is also posted here.
