'Varisu' producer's shocking decision to stop film production

Dil Raju one of Telugu cinema's biggest film producers has now become very familiar to Tamil audiences thanks to his new projects 'Varisu' starring Thalapathy Vijay and 'RC15' directed by Shankar. His latest film 'Thank You' directed by Vikram K Kumar of '24' fame is releasing on July 22nd with huge expectations.

Dil Raju during the promotional interview for 'Thank You' has revealed his decision to stop making new films. He has rightly stated that the audience tastes have changed drastically after the COVID 19 pandemic and hence he is taking time off to study their pulse and then resume production.

Raju has further added that the OTT boom has given audiences access to world class content and it is time for Telugu filmmakers to adapt to the much evolved consumer's needs. He has stressed the need for quality stories, well planned budget and execution. He along with other Tollywood producers have decided to allow streaming of Telugu films only after 50 days from theatrical release to balance the business.

Trade analysts are of the opinion that Dil Raju has taken the right decision by casting Thalapathy Vijay in 'Varisu' directed by Vamshi Paidipally and the bilingual will ensure that the cost is recovered easily at the box office. The scenario is also similar with 'RC15' which has Shankar's granduer touch and is expected to rake in the moolah.
