The film had a huge star cast and one Tamil actor who had shot for the film was actress-cum-politician Khushbu. When the film was released, fans and the audience could not find her in the film! Netizens are questioning if her scenes were cut and if so, why.

In a recent video interview, Khushbu stated she couldn't reveal what her role in the film was. But when she shot for the film last year, she posted pics with Vijay and Rashmika on her social media.

Even at the audio launch of Varisu in Chennai, Thalapathy Vijay had spoken about Khushboo on stage. Vijay said she was playing an important role in the film. Meanwhile, 'Varisu' team says the long running time turned out to be a big issue. The film’s running time is 170 minutes. Therefore they had to remove a lot of portions at the last minute.

Also starring Rashmika Mandanna, the film has been directed by Vamshi Paidipally, and produced by Dil Raju. The other cast also includes, R. Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Shaam, Srikanth, Khushbu, Jayasudha, Sangeetha Krish, Samyuktha Shanmughanathan, Nandini Rai, Ganesh Venkatraman, Sriman, VTV Ganesan, John Vijay and Bharath Reddy.
