Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu' is releasing for the festive Pongal 2023 clashing head on with Ajith Kumar's 'Thunivu' at the worldwide box office. The innovative promotions have kickstarted with each update upping the ante for the film.

Most notably the first single 'Ranjithame' sung by Thalapathy Vijay himself and Manasi and the second one 'Thee Thalapathy' sung and performed on video by Simbu have become chartbusters instantly. They are also breaking records on YouTube with phenomenal viewership.

Now to add to the frenzy it has been reported that Simbu has not only sung in 'Varisu' but also will be making a special cameo appearance in the film as well. It is said that the presence of the much loved star has been kept under wraps and will be one of the many surprises packed in the family entertainer. However there is no official confirmation on this one as yet..

Those in the know opine that much like Suriya's cameo appearance as Rolex in Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram', Simbu too will make a huge impression in 'Varisu'. The film directed by Vamshi Paidipally has the ensemble cast of Vijay, Rashmika Mandana, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Shaam, Srikanth,Yogi Babu, Jayasudha, Sangeetha, Samyukta and S.J. Suryah. Karthik Palani is handling the cinematography and Praveen KL the editing while Dil Raju is bankrolling with a huge budget and releasing it in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages simultaenously.
