It has been reported that popular actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar was interrogated by National Investigation Agency (NIA) in a narcotics drugs case. She has given her clarification on the issue.

The seizure of about 300 kgs of heroin and AK 47 in Villincham beach area of Kerala created a sensation in the media recently. It was revealed in the first phase of investigation that Aadhilingam, who was arrested in the crime worked as Varalaxmi's assistant. There were reports in the media that following this the NIA had sent summons to the actress to appear before the investigation team.

Varalakshmi has now clarified "I have no connection with Aadhilingam, who worked for me but quit five years ago. The NIA officials made an inquiry regarding him only at my mother's place.". She added "No one called me for investigation".
