Kollywood actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar enthralled us all with her debut here in Malayalam, through the Mammootty starrer named Kasaba helmed by Nithin Renji Panicke last year. The actress won accolades for her performance in the movie and now the latest that we hear is Varalaxmi will once again team up with the Megstar for an upcoming project.

Reportedly, the bubbly actress has been roped in to play the female lead in the upcoming Mammootty starrer yet-to-be-titled project directed by Ajay Vasudeva. Apart from Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar, actress Mahima Nambiar will also play an important female lead character in this movie. However, the actress is yet to officially confirm the project.

Recently, Varalaxmi has been in the news for walking out of Samudirakani's Malayalam directorial Aakasha Mittayee starring Jayaram in the lead. The actress, who was supposed to play Jayaram's wife in the film, has reportedly had a tiff with the movie's producers as she couldn't want to work under the male chauvinistic conditions, the producers specified.

Coming back to Ajay Vasudev's directorial, the filming will start from April 17th, at Kollam. Written by Uday Krishna, the movie will also feature Unni Mukundan in an important character. Stay tuned!
