Young actress Varalakshmi released a bold statement about the way the women professionals are being taken for granted in film industry and media after the sexual assault on actress Bhavana in Kerala. Her statement made huge waves and also inspired many other actresses to issue such statements condemning the violence against Bhavana.

Now the 'Tharai Thappattai' actress has converted her activism into action for ensuring safety and upholding dignity of women professionals in film industry.

The proud daughter of Supreme Star Sarathkumar has announced that a new Association for the safety of film actresses will be launched on the International Women's Day this year that is on March 8, 2017.

IndiaGlitz congratulates Varu for such a praiseworthy initiative.
