For the first time, I've embraced the role of a cop in a Telugu film.

What made you to sign this film

With the surge in popularity of investigative thrillers, my desire to explore diverse characters in Telugu cinema has been longstanding. 'Kota Bommali PS' has provided the perfect platform for me, and I'm eagerly anticipating the audience's response to my role. The excitement is palpable as I look forward to how my character resonates with the Telugu audience.

You have done the cop role in Nayattu. Is it similar to it.

In the original Malayalam film 'Nayattu,' my character lacked a counterpart. However, in the Telugu adaptation, the significance and depth of my role have been notably heightened, adding substantial weight to the character.

How different is Kotabommali from Nayattu

The storyline of the film has undergone subtle changes, introducing a twist to my character. The intriguing aspect unfolds when one of the cops takes a dramatic turn, going berserk and turning into a criminal. This promises to be a captivating element for audiences to witness in the film.

What is the highlight in Kota Bommali PS

The intriguing cat-and-mouse dynamic with Srikanth Garu adds depth to the film. Both portraying cops, our on-screen chemistry shines in the limited yet impactful combination scenes. Srikanth is not just a co-star but a simple, sweet human being, and his dedication to his craft is truly commendable.

Did you make any preparations for the role of cop

This marks my debut smoking scene in a film—an amusing experience, pretending to savor it. Post the director's 'Cut,' a slight discomfort lingered. I invested considerable effort in refining my character's body language, ensuring fans witnessed a fresh portrayal.

Tell us about your shooting experience

The outdoor shoot took us into challenging terrains, including a jungle. The conditions were not exactly friendly. My scenes with Srikanth Garu were limited, yet impactful. He exudes simplicity and kindness. Director Teja Marni, a soft-spoken individual, guided us through the process with his calm demeanor.

Kotabommali looks like a political action thriller

While "Kota Bommali PS" isn't centered around politics, subtle references to the electoral system are woven into the narrative. It refrains from taking a stance against any specific party, instead delving into the nuances of voting behaviors to a limited extent.

What made you choose different roles in your films

As an artist, I surrender to the essence of each character I portray. Consistently, I prioritize roles that leave a lasting imprint on the audience's memory, opting for characters that set me apart in a realm where others might hesitate. I find joy in occupying this distinctive space.
