The official trailer of 'Vanjagar Ulagam' is all coke, guns, a bunch of gangsters and characters mixed in a concoction flavoured by sweeping jazz music. The decidedly offbeat trailer that director Manoj Beedha has given us is just enough to rise curiosity levels to the max.
A ransacked hospital premises in the beginning, a character walking us through his black out, a girl at the receiving end of a very gory death as in the trailer suggests us a story plot that is as eccentric as it is serious. And Guru Somasundaram who impressed us in his 'Joker' seems to be not all jokes in this romantic thriller that the makers tour it to be.
Sam.C.S of 'Vikram Vedha' fame is all set to daze us with an excellent bgm work, it seems going by the trailer. Melody and crime has proven to be an odd combo that has never failed to surprise us, and Sam has taken ample jazz which kind of romanticizes the serious nature of the trailer. Fingers crossed to experience his work in the feature.
The visuals of the trailer are another thing that should be noticed with a bright and adequate show of tones, take the instance of the van burning shot, goes to suggest an excellent work by Mexican cinematographer Rodrigo Del Rio Herrera. The cuts have come in non-jarring for the trailer which makes the trailer sort of a good appetiser pre- release.
Ciby, Vishagan, Anisha and John Vijay are also a part of the ensemble cast and each seem to have very striking characterisations going by this trailer. Prasanth JK is creative producer and the film is bankrolled by Labyrinth Films and no doubt this trailer increases anticipation among cinephiles out there!
