Vanitha Vijayakumar is having a longstanding feud with her father veteran actor Vijayakumar. A few weeks back she had hired the family property "Manjula House" in Chennai for a film shooting and then later refused to vacate stating that it belongs to her as it is in her mother's name. Vijayakumar lodged a police complaint and had her and the film crew evicted and some of them arrested.

Vanitha went to the supreme court stating that she needed security which was granted to her. Taking a copy of the Supreme Court order Vanitha once again entered "Manjula House" and occupied it with her daughter. Vijayakumar once again went to the cops pointing out that the court order only gave her security but no rights to enter the house. The cops arrested Vanitha again and took her to the Madhuravayal Station and warned her not to illegally enter the house and released her. The former actress told pressmen that she will handle this issue through the courts and asserted that the property belonged to her and her sister Preetha and Sreedevi and no one including Vijayakumar had rights.
