Actress Vanitha Vijay Kumar said that at one point she was threatened and subjected to mental harassment by her family members.

She said that she hidden in Mysore, Karnataka for about two years as she could not bear the difficulties faced by her family members. She participated in an interview as part of the promotion of 'Malli Pelli'. Then my own people threw me out of the house. The police beat me. I don’t know where to go. threats came from my family. I left Tamil Nadu for Karnataka with my children. I stayed in Mysore for about two years. At that time I called my father. "Why are you doing this? If there was a mother, would this happen?" I asked.
