One of the unexpected moments in the third season of Bigg Boss game show was the elimination of Tharshan. Tharshan had been projected as one of the top contestants who could reach the finals as well as win the title, and his exit had evoked sad response from audience.

Tharshan left the house with a smiling face, and had been smiling throughout even as Losliya, Sherin, Mugen and Sandy got emotional and were crying. Kamal Haasan had encouraging words for Tharshan, and told him to keep learning, and that this is his first success.

After his elimination, Vanitha Vijayakumar, who was one of the housemates and had conflict with him, tweeted that it was Sherin's planand Tharshan fell in her trap. She tweeted "She planned She plotted and She achieved She was strong enough to execute it He was weak enough to fall in her trap Feeling heavy he had to be unnecessarily made to expect and believe something he didn't ask for.
