For the first time in Tamil cinema, Kugan Chakravarthy has taken on 21 responsibilities, including story, screenplay, dialogues, lyrics, music, cinematography, art, choreography, stunt training, and lead acting, to create the film ‘Vangaala Virikuda Kurunila Mannan’.
The film features Jayshree, Prabhat, Alina Sheikh, Vasu Vikram, Vaiyapuri, and others. Produced by Rajalakshmi Natarajan under the Mata Pita Film Factory banner, the movie is set to release on the 28th of this month, coinciding with Maha Shivaratri.
Speaking about the film, Kugan Chakravarthy said, “I am a relative of lyricist Guruvi Karambai Shanmugam and a disciple of T. Rajendar. I have acted as a second lead in a few films before and now play the lead role in this. The movie revolves around the philosophy of Dr. Abdul Kalam’s vision, blended with the beautiful lifestyle of our people.
The story follows an ordinary man who rises from hardship to become a millionaire, only to make mistakes in maintaining his success. The film emphasizes how one should and should not live. Since it highlights Abdul Kalam’s principles, we plan to showcase it as a special screening for students. No one has ever handled 21 responsibilities in a movie before, and I took on this challenge. The film is also being released in Telugu as ‘Bangala Kaadhamlo’ and in Hindi as ‘Bay of Bengal’,” he said.
