Pankaj Productions who has started the bilingual Vandematharam with Sneha and Mammootty in the lead has initially signed up Karthik to direct the film. The film has stared rolling with this director.

But now the producrs have changed their minds about Karthik and is on the search for a replacement director. The film will also have Arjun and Mamtha in important roles. The Tamil version will be released in a different name.
