Mammootty has started shooting for the new film Vandemataram at Chennai. The film which will also be shot simultaneously in Tamil with the title Aruvadai will have Sneha in the female lead.

After a schedule of ten days, the rest of the movie will be shot at Nagercoil in the month of May.

Mammootty is acting in the role of Gopikrishanan, the head of the southern regional Intelligence Bureau (IB). Debutant Karthik directs the flick which is produced by Henry in the banner of Pankaj Productions.
