It is a lackluster attempt from director Aditya Chikkanna. His huge experience is of no use in this film. It is ordinary story, simple moments, expected turns, regular love story, ordinary performance, very ordinary songs and excellent cinematography in `Vamshoddaraka' does not compel you to watch. The content is as ancient as the title of the movie!
An educated youth coming to village, getting good name from his good deeds because of his rich family background is worn out theory on silver screen. Kidney donation he makes to his best friend is heard innumerable times. The significance to mother earth, upgrading of thinking among villagers, agriculture is one step ahead of doctor profession come like small documentary scenes in the film. When the hero reaches so and so spot, the changes are bound to happen. The same person faces charges of romancing with his best friend wife. How he overcomes such set back is end part of the film.
A senior actor today Vijaya Raghavendra must have demanded more solid presentation from director Chikkanna. Vijaya Raghavendra is impressive at a few places. Meghana Raj just smiles without any solid sequence to perform. Rangayana Raghu and Satyajith scream and torture nerves. Lakshmi has nothing much to do. Srinivasamurthy, Vinayaprakash caliber is wasted. Naveen Krishna attracts in his dialogue delivery. Sanketh Kashi portion was unwanted. Sadhu Kokila comedy is obsolete.
Two songs of this film from V Manohar are tolerable. A song for Rangayana Raghu dream is misfit. PKH Doss gets some delectable shots to watch. The long shots are so pleasant from Doss.
`Vamshoddaraka' is one more addition to list of films. Very disappointing.
