Virat Kohli's daughter Vamika, who turned one recently, was spotted with her mom Anushka Sharma in the VIP stand, watching Virat Kohli and Team India play South Africa in the ongoing series. Vamika's face was revealed in the shot and screenshots have gone viral on social media. The broadcast and viral photos have angered several fans who demand the tweets sharing the pictures be deleted.
The former India captain and the Bollywood star have never revealed their daughter's face in their social media posts and have also earlier requested paparazzi to not click her pictures. In an Instagram story, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli clarified that they didn't mean to allow Vamika to be filmed, repeating their request that photos of her daughter not be taken or shared.
The couple wrote: “We realise that our daughter's images were captured at the stadium yesterday and widely shared thereafter. We want to inform everyone that we were caught off-guard and didn't know that the camera was on us. Our stance and request on the matter stay the same. We would really appreciate if Vamika's images are not clicked/published for reasons we have explained earlier,” on their respective social media account.Kohli and Anushka had earlier sent a note to the paparazzi asking them to not click pictures of Vamika. "Hi, Thank you for all the love that you have given us for all these years. We are happy to celebrate this momentous occasion with you. As parents, we have a simple request to make to you. We want to protect the privacy of our child and we need your help and support," the couple had said.
The couple also mentioned that they will ensure that the paparazzi gets all the content featuring them but requested them not to carry anything related to their baby girl. "While, we will always ensure that you get all the content you need featuring us, we would request you to kindly not take or carry any content that has our child. We know that you will understand where we are coming from and we thank you for the same."
