'Valleem Thetti Pulliyum Thetti' had a lot of interesting elements like the gang war shrouded in comical satire, the fall of the small town talkies and a love angle. But taken together, though there is a novelty in the way the movie has been narrated, it falls short of being a classic as it claims. The movie starts of promisingly, set in the 1990's but has gaps and loopholes which leaves a dent in the narrative.

The plot begins with Vinaya Chandran, Gagan's gang war with Oola Biju and his men. Its Vinaya Chandran's (Kuchacko Boban) story all along. Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti though is not a hero centric movie. All the others who gather around Vinaya Chandran too stands out in certain scenes as the movie progresses. The plot is interesting in bits and phases as with the Sreedevi talkies, the beauty of the village, picturising the pitfalls of modernization etc has been woven well.  But intruding background music, an uncooked plot including the climax does it in.

Director Rishi Sivakumar has tried to present the movie in a different way but it has not been done convincingly. He has added colour to the narrative by exploring the possibility of colourful drapes, picturesque village glory and of course Shamili.

All the actors including Kuchako Boban, Renji Panickar, Manoj K Jayan, Suresh Krishna and Saiju Kurup has done well. Aneesh G Menon has especially made a mark with his comic timing and impeccable act. Shamili only manages to look pretty. This wouldn't be a debut that she hoped for. Cinematography of the movie by Kunjunni S Kumar is above average with some very captivating shots. Editing is passable. Music by Suraj S Kumar as commendable though too loud here and there.

Altogether Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti is an average entertainer. It is the seemingly unfinished plot and an unappealing climax along with a shoddy first half that makes the movie just about average. Unlike 'Aadu Oru Bheegara Jeeviyannu' which bears the satirical resemblance, this movie does not keep the momentum throughout to be classy.
